Sunny but windy today with 55 mph gusts.
Frances and Al arrived last night. We spent today plant shopping. This morning we drove over to Jefferson to a real nice plant nursery where we picked up a good selection of plants for the pots and hanging baskets.
We then came home for lunch and to rest then drove into to check out the two local plant places. They did not have much to offer that we did not find at the first store.
Dinner and resting in front of the TV tonight.
Lots of sunshine today with light winds and temperatures in the upper 60’s.
I had several errands to run in town including the estimate from George on the earthquake damage in the garage at the earthquake office.
Back home I divided and transplanted a little more of the ground cover and some of the brown eyed Susan plant in back in the old stump mound. Then I hosed off the porch furniture and dried it down to get that ready for the cushions.

House cleaning chores took up most of the morning.
A rainy, cool day with temps in the mid 40’s. Winds gusting up tonight taking up back down into the upper 30’s.
Otherwise, not much going on today. Laundry and a few household chores. I put a meal in the crock pot for dinner.
Another jolt last night about 10:30 but it must have been localized just around here. No one posted anything on our local Facebook page they felt it or it was registered with USGS.
Cold, partly cloudy, and windy. It was 28 degrees this morning. High today in the mid 40’s with wind chills in the low 30’s.
The inspector with the earthquake office came by yesterday afternoon to look at the house and assess the damages they will pay for. In addition to what George already saw and quoted me a price on the inspector also suggested repairing the cracks in the chimney wall that runs up through the garage.
I am staying home today to wait on George to come by and give me a quote on that job so I can drop it off at the earthquake office. Just after the inspector left yesterday we had another 2.1 jolt. Getting tired of those.
Sunny and windy this morning with temps in the mid 50’s. That will be the high for the day. We gradually fall down into the upper 20’s by tonight with 45 mph wind gusts.
Trip down to Winston this morning was interesting. When I have an appointment I always leave early in the event of slow\stopped traffic. After living up here for five plus years I finally had to take the detour around hwy 21 that goes down the mountain,
I had no problems until I reached the intersection where the detour comes out. The young guy sitting in the volunteer fire truck sent me the wrong way. I had to back track and finally got headed back in the right direction to get back on 21.
Got to my haircut on time then met Nancy and Betsy for lunch. So good to see them again. Coming back the road is still closed. Must have been a bad accident since the guy told me this morning the road had already been closed for 4 hours. Now I know the detour route.
