Sunny and windy this morning with temps in the mid 50’s. That will be the high for the day. We gradually fall down into the upper 20’s by tonight with 45 mph wind gusts.

Trip down to Winston this morning was interesting. When I have an appointment I always leave early in the event of slow\stopped traffic. After living up here for five plus years I finally had to take the detour around hwy 21 that goes down the mountain,

I had no problems until I reached the intersection where the detour comes out. The young guy sitting in the volunteer fire truck sent me the wrong way. I had to back track and finally got headed back in the right direction to get back on 21.

Got to my haircut on time then met Nancy and Betsy for lunch. So good to see them again. Coming back the road is still closed. Must have been a bad accident since the guy told me this morning the road had already been closed for 4 hours. Now I know the detour route.

I am reading Tracking Game by Margaret Mizushima.

Warmer today and partly cloudy with a breeze.

Tim returned both lap tops this morning. Now I have a functional backup.

Joyce picked me up around 11:30 to take me to pick up my car. They did a great job. I stopped by the drugstore on the way home. That’s about it for today.

Partly cloudy and windy with temps in the mid 50’s.

I went to the gym this morning then took the car to the body shop here in Sparta. Donna picked me up to bring me home when she got off from work at 10:30 from the morning shift at the gym.

We visited for awhile then she headed back home. The car will be ready tomorrow sometime.

Tim is coming by this afternoon to pick up my laptop and take it back to the shop. I am having him build Bob’s old laptop to mirror mine as a backup in the event this one should go south on me. He will return it first thing tomorrow morning. In the meantime I have my Fire to check messages, etc.

I am reading The Book Supremacy by Kate Carlisle.

Cloudy, breezy, and cool. Temps in the mid 50’s with a few sprinkles.

I did a load of laundry.

While that was drying I went outside to walk around the yard to see how things are looking. Lots of little sticks and limbs down along the tree line/natural area from the last couple of wind storms that needed picked up along with several large limbs under the pines. I cleaned up the worst of that mess. Will tackle the rest another day.

Light rain last night. Cloudy and chilly this morning. The sun has come out but its windy this afternoon with temps in the mid 50’s.

I cleaned the downstairs bathroom and vacuumed the floors and the stairs. I needed to drop of the estimate George left this morning to fix the rock work along the porch at the earthquake office. Did that and returned and picked up my library books.

James is mowing. With all the rain and last weeks warm temperatures the grass is really high.

Cameron and his helper just showed up to spread my mulch.

I am reading Wild Fire by Ann Cleeves.

Partly cloudy and warm.

Gym this morning to walk and do light weights. I stopped by the local garden store to pick up a new plant moisture probe. They have a lot of nice bedding plants in the greenhouse but it is too early to put stuff out now. I did pick up a corn flower perennial plant for the bed along the porch.

I planted that and hoed up a few more weeds and did a couple of other little chores outside.

Partly cloudy and breezy with temps in the low 60’s.

With the back issues as they are I now need to focus on what I can do rather than what I can’t. So, this morning I tackled a few gardening chores. I hoed out some of the weeds in the beds along the driveway and sort of prepared that area for the mulch. More on that later.

Last year Donna gave me some really nice low growing ground cover. It is taking off well in the spots I planted it late last fall. I divided a few clumps and planted them in this end of the driveway bed to hopefully shorten up the area needing mulching. Don’t know if it will go all the way up the driveway or not. The other side I have started some lambs ear.

Heidi’s son is supposed to make time to spread the mulch I had delivered this afternoon. He is very busy. So we will. I may have to explore other options.

Windy, sunny, and warm today..

Drove down to Winston this morning. I ran an errand on my way to my appointment with the pain clinic associated with my back doctor. As I guessed not much came out of the appointment. I do not want to do shots nor surgery right now after all the back infection mess.  I am already on low dose pain killers which is what he wanted to prescribe.

So, I will just have to continue as is and live with the issues.
