Warm and sunny today with temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s and mostly calm winds.
Went to the gym and the library this morning.
This afternoon I swept and hosed off the porch and the wrought iron furniture before putting on the cushions and my little porch decorations. Then I watered all the plants and did some clean up in the garage before calling it a day.

I went to the gym this morning. Came home and checked the long range forecast. Looks like we are not supposed to get any below freezing temperatures so I headed outside. I hung the hanging baskets that were already planted then finished planting the remaining stuff in pots and in the ground.
I still have a couple of things that I had not been able to find as yet to fill a couple more pots that I will look for in the next couple of weeks.
52 degrees, sunny, and breezy when I left for Winston this morning.
Had a haircut appointment then met Bonnie for lunch at the Carriage House. Had not been there in a long time. Food and service good as always. We had a nice visit then I headed back up the mountain. Back in Sparta, I needed to run an errand before coming to the house.
It’s in the low 60’s for highs today with a breeze and back down into the upper 40’s and 50’s at night.
An almost perfect weather day. Lots of sunshine, temperatures in the low to mid 60’s and light winds.
Went to the gym, library, grocery store and Scott’s on the way home. Then headed outside to pull some weeds and do more clean up in the beds along the porch. Scott’s had a few plants I did not find at Third Day last week. I started putting plants in the hanging baskets and some of the pots but have left them in the garage for now.

I went to the gym then from there drove over to West Jefferson to the plant store I like. I wanted to get there early before things get picked over for Mother’s Day. I found most of the things I was looking for. From there it was quick ride over to Lowe’s to pick up something I forgot the other day. We are still not out of the woods for some chillier weather so the plants will live in the garage for another week or so. I can start putting plants in the hanging baskets and pots while they are in the garage and then move them.
I came home and fixed some lunch and then started on the weeding. Cold weather does not stop some type of ground covering grass that grows everywhere I do not want it. I managed to get another hour and half of work done before calling it a day.
