Sunny but chilly when I left for Winston this morning for my haircut appointment.

From there I met Bonnie for lunch at Mi Pueblo then headed back up the mountain. I went into town first before coming home to drop off some library books and stop at the store to talk with Joyce about something.

This afternoon putting the finishing touches on the tree and gets things tidied up from that project.

Sunny today and chilly with highs in the low 40’s and breezy.

A slow day at the store. Not many people in town either. We had two donations to process and we worked on getting the Christmas books out.

I left at 3:30 to meet the washer repairman. He put in a new fill valve. If that does not work I will have to replace the machine. I am running a load now so we will see.

The winds howled all night and into today with gusts up to 50 mph. High today in the low 30’s with wind chills down in the teens. It sunny but we are getting some wind snow. Winds are supposed to calm down later this afternoon with lows tonight down into the teens.

I went to the gym and made a quick stop at the grocery store to pick up the weekly items.

Decorating the Christmas tree this afternoon. My washing machine stopped working on Sunday. My repair guy and I thought it was the censor again but after replacing those it is still not finishing the cycle. It may the valve. Waiting to hear from him to see if he researched things and decided that is the problem.

I spent yesterday getting the Christmas decorations up in the house. I do not do the outside.

This morning I went to the gym then stopped at the tree lot and picked out my tree. JoAnne came over to help me get it in the stand then we went to lunch. I start working on the tree this afternoon.

It’s sunny today with windy with temperatures in the upper 30’s and a wind chill in the upper 20’s. We are under a wind advisory for tonight and tomorrow.

Saturday November 2, 2023

I worked at the store Wednesday until 2:00. Stopped by the house then headed down to Winston. Frances fixed enchiladas for dinner Wednesday night.

Thanksgiving day we watched the parade, the dog show, and movies on Hallmark. Frances and Al cooked up a wonderful meal which included baked chicken and pork tenderloin, green beans, mixed veggies, dressing, and several desserts.

Friday we ran some errands and ate lunch out at the barbecue restaurant then home and leftovers for dinner.

This morning I left Winston around 8:30 for home. After I unloaded the car and put away the leftovers in the fridge I went in to work at the bookstore. Joyce had a big day yesterday breaking the $200 ceiling but had to work by herself. Today we broke the $200 ceiling again. The Christmas parade was today. Temperatures in the upper 30’s and breezy but a lot of folks turned out.

Tuesday November 21, 2023

A lovely, rainy day with temperatures in the upper 30’s. Well over an inch so far. We are very dry with wild fires in several nearby NC and VA counties.

I went to the gym then stopped at the library to return and pick up books. Made a quick stop at the grocery store and found the lettuce I like they were out of yesterday.

More Christmas prep stuff to work on this afternoon.

Monday November 20, 2023

Mostly cloudy today with highs in the low 50’s and wind 10 to 15 mph winds.

Gym and grocery store then back home. Busier than usual for a Monday with folks shopping for their Thanksgiving foods. I picked up milk and a few other things but they were out of my lettuce. I may stop by again tomorrow while in town to see if some came in.

I have some odds and ends to do in the house today in preparation for pulling out the Christmas decorations next week.

Sunny today with brisk winds and temperatures in the mid 50’s.

Busy day at the store. Lots of shoppers and several big donations to work on in between customers. We almost broke the $200.00 ceiling so a good day all around. We also have a donation jar on the desk. We took inĀ  lot in donations today as well as in sales.

Friday November 17, 2023

Mostly sunny today with highs in the low 60’s and a slight breeze.

We were busy off and on with decent sales. We had one book jobber that is a regular customer which took us over the $100.00 ceiling.

I had a couple of donations to work on between customers. Then, after work I met Donna and Debra at The Cellar for a nice evening of wine and good conversation.

Wednesday November 15, 2023

Sunny and mild today with highs in the mid 50’s. We need rain. Most of our area us under a burning ban and not much of the way of rain in sight.

Slow day in sales at the store but I had a 15 box donation that took most of the day to process. Joyce left early for a meeting so I held down the fort until closing.
