Single digits last night with minus zero digits with the windchill. It’s warmed up to a balmy 22 degrees with wind chills in the teens but lots of sunshine. Tonight we only go down into the teens but the wind chill will most likely be down into the single digits.

I had several errands to run in Winston today that I did not have time to get to last week. In between I met Betsy and Nancy for lunch at Village Tavern. We went fairly early because it is always crowded but noon even though the place is huge. Had a good lunch and a nice visit.

Once all was said and done I headed back up the mountain missing most of the school bus traffic.

Snowing all day but not much is sticking to the ground right now. Temperatures are hovering right at the freezing mark but will go down into the upper 20’s tonight. Bushes and trees are covered but I doubt we’ve had more than half and inch or so to stick.

Joyce and I had scheduled a work day at the store. With the roads just wet we decided to go ahead with our plans. We got there around ten and worked almost straight through except for a quick snack break until after 2 pm. The task was to get the back room where we store our over stock, holiday and window displays, etc. organized again. We try to keep it fairly organized but periodically we do a work day. Since we had to get all the Christmas stuff back up we decided this was a good time to get this done. And, it is impossible to do it while the store is open.

We also may be getting a big donation in this week and we needed to make room for that.

Sunny but chilly today with highs in the low 30’s but with the wind chill in the teens all day was pretty cold. Tonight we go down into the low 20’s with clear skies.

We finally had a  stellar day at the store breaking the $100.00 ceiling. Steady but not overly busy. Wendy and I held down the fort as Pat had another event to attend.

I met Donna at The Cellar after work. We enjoyed some wine and a visit along with talking with the owners who appreciate their regular customers. A nice relaxing evening after a stressful week.

Sunny and 40 degrees when I left for town this morning. Midday the winds picked up and the temperature started dropping. It started pouring down rain around 3 pm. Not sure if the cold temperatures for tonight will get here before the moisture moves out or I guess we will see some snow by morning. We’ve only had less than a tenth of an inch but on top of all that fell Tuesday the ground is saturated and we are under a wind warning for tonight.

Despite the weather we had a fairly good day at the store. Did not break the $100.00 ceiling but came close. Busy off and on all day until the skies opened up again late this afternoon.

Finally, a nice sunny day before the next front moves in. Heavy frost last night and upper teens this morning when I left for Winston. I ran several errands before meeting my friends from The Firm for lunch.

Warmed up into the upper 50’s down the mountain and is in the mid 40’s here but breezy. After lunch I had a haircut appointment then headed back up the mountain.

Winds howled last night with 50 and 60 mph gusts. I got up several times during the night to look out the back and front to make sure all was well. Checked around the house when I got home this afternoon. Fortunately no singles off the roof or shutters off the house.

We had four inches of rain yesterday. This morning snow showers until early afternoon. Highs in the low 30’s with wind chills in the upper 20’s. With a lot of the county roads most likely under water and the cold temperatures we had a dismal day at the store.

We dodged another bullet with the weather. Had it been a little bit colder we would be having a snow storm today. Instead, as of early this morning we have over three and half inches of rain and it is still coming down. Early this morning it was mixed with some sleet and freezing rain.

Temperatures are hovering in the upper 30’s right now but are supposed to fall into the mid 20’s tonight.

I’ve been out splashing around all morning. I went to the gym and the library then stopped at the grocery store. Found my usual weekly items plus needed to stock up some oft used pantry items since I did not go the store last week.

I was scheduled to have my implant put in next Monday but they called with a cancellation for today at 11:45 so I took it. After almost a year the process is completed. Did not have any problems and feels just like getting a crown.

We are under flood and high wind warnings tonight through tomorrow morning.

Gym this morning then home to shower and eat lunch. I had a Friends of the Library meeting at 1 then stopped by Donna’s on the way home for a visit with her and the dogs.

A messy day. Temperatures here at the house are in the low 40’s but other parts of the county are at or below freezing making those roads treacherous. Some icing on the trees and decks here.

Pat and I decided not to open the store due to the conditions in the county and surrounding areas. Doubt folks will be out and about and we don’t need to risk falling walking to and from the car.

Instead, I will spend the day putting the decorative stuff and pictures back out.

Sunny but cold today. Upper 20’s when I left for the store. We made it to 34 degrees by this afternoon with a breeze. Sometime tonight we are supposed to have ice/sleet/snow moving in.

Despite a chilly, slow day we still did well in sales. Did not reach the $100.00 ceiling but made more today than we did both Wednesday and Thursday combined. Had a couple of small donations come in to work on.
