Sunday March 26, 2023

A sunny, mild day with temperatures in the upper 60’s and a slight breeze.

Along with the usual cleaning chores I have a list of little projects that need taken care of. It’s always something where you are a one man band. Having been down in Winston all day on Wednesday and working at the bookstore the rest of the week I need to catch up.

The rest of the food items that go in the cabinets from the Costco run need to be put away. The winter garden flags need changed and the bird feeders filled. The now cleaned humidifier is packed away for the season.

Also, started the oven doing it’s self cleaning thing this morning.  Laundry this afternoon while I do the other chores. Barbecue chicken thighs in the crock pot for dinner.

Saturday March 25, 2023

A bit of rain overnight and this morning but not much in the way of precipitation. The sun came out mid morning with temperatures making into the upper 60’s with some blustery winds this afternoon.

We were really busy at the store this morning then things fell off this afternoon. We had a few people in after 1 but not many. We still broke the $100.00 ceiling for the third day in a row.

Friday March 24, 2023

Mostly sunny today and warm with temperatures in the low 70’s and breezy.

Another good day at the bookstore. Steady most of the day and we broke the $100.00 ceiling.

I had to make an impromptu visit to the dentist for a tooth problem. As is always the case with me; nothing simple.  More later.

Thursday March 23, 2023

Mostly sunny today with highs in the low 70’s and blustery winds.

A good day at the store. Busy most of the day up until the last hour. We did break the $100.00 ceiling. Always good for a week day in March. Warm weather will tease the plants into thinking it’s spring but we still have April to get through first.

Wednesday March 22, 2023

Light rain with temperatures in the low 40’s when I left for Winston this morning for my 10:30 haircut.

From there I did a pretty good sized Costco run. Picked up chicken thighs, hamburger, and frozen salmon for my big meats. Other than water and cereal I bought mostly canned goods for the pantry and a few nonfood and toiletry items. Everything I was looking for was available.

I made a quick stop at Barnes and Nobles then grabbed a bite of lunch before going on to my next appointment. I had my five year bone density scan. All looks good although due to all my back issues I’ve lost another inch in height.

It drizzled all day in Winston and back up the mountain. Skies are partly cloudy now but temperatures are still in the 40’s.

Warmer today with lots of sunshine, calm winds, and highs in the lower 50’s.

Gym this morning then the library to pick up and return books. This afternoon I changed the sheets and did a few other inside chores on my to do list.

Monday March 20, 2023

Cold start to the day with lows in the upper teens. Warming up this afternoon with lots of sunshine, temperatures in the mid 40’s, and calmer winds for a change.

Gym this morning then the grocery store. Picked up the usual weekly items along with some odds and end for the pantry and the freezer. Otherwise, not much going on this afternoon.

Sunday March 19, 2023

Sunny today but cold and blustery with highs in the low 30’s.

This morning I cleaned all the bathrooms, vacuumed, and dusted.

Some stuff to do here at my desk and the usual Sunday laundry chores.

Saturday March 18, 2023

Sunny today and blustery. We made it into the low 40’s but blustery winds kept it cold all day. Going down into the mid teens tonight.

We had a busy day at the bookstore. Several big sales and a very big sale took us over the $200.00 mark. Some regulars customers as well as quit a few out of town folks.

Friday March 17, 2023

Cloudy this morning but the sun came out this afternoon. We made it back up into the low 50’s with breezy conditions.

A moderately busy day at the bookstore. Broke the $50.00 ceiling with a couple of good sales. Again, several folks just in to browse around but did not find anything.
