Sunny and cold. Winds starting howling around 3 am this morning keeping me awake. The power went out sometime around 6. Finally dozed off and when I woke up around 6:45 it was back on. The temperature is current 8 degrees with a wind chill of -17. Today’s high is 3 with the winds gusting to 60 mph. We had a few snow squalls during the early morning hours but they have blown through.
I am doing laundry and various other tasks. Al is continuing to do well.
We had about an inch of ran over night. Trees are covered with a thin coat of ice this morning. Roads are just wet. Temperatures are to be in the upper 30’s by this afternoon. Frigid air and 50 mph winds starting tonight bringing some snow showers and flurries. Depending on the elevation may see an inch or so.
I went to the gym then back home. Need to change the sheets this afternoon and do some odds and ends around the house.
Al is home from the hospital.
Sunny today with a breeze and temperatures in the mid 30’s.
I am hanging around the house today doing odds and ends.
Joanne and Jeff came by this afternoon to haul off a load of cinder blocks I had stored under the deck we had brought up from Winston. Bob had used them for college book shelves but we did not need them all. They also hauled off the two solid core doors we had used as desks. Jeff will use the cinder blocks for a project and they are going to build their son Colin a table at his house.
I hate having stuff sitting around when it can be put to good use by someone instead of winding up in the landfill.
Their son’s goat had a baby Sunday. Joanne is baby sitting the goat because the mom rejected it and is doing the bottle feeding. She brought it along. It is so cute. I held it while they loaded the truck.
Sunny but chilly today with temperatures in the upper 30’s and breezy.
I went to the gym this morning then ran a couple of errands. Stopped at the grocery store just to pick up milk and a few odds and ends.
Al is still in the hospital.
Sunny today but cold. Temperatures in the mid 30’s with a wind chill in the teens.
I did the usual house cleaning chores this morning. Laundry this afternoon.
Al is still in the hospital.
Sunny today with blustery winds and temperatures in the upper 30’s.
We had a good at the bookstore breaking the $100.00 ceiling.
Al is still in the hospital while they work on finding out what his issues are.
I had about an inch of rain over night. This morning trees and bushes were coated with ice but the roads were just wet.
I left for Winston around 10 to pick up my new glasses. As I was leaving there and driving to Home Depot Frances called. Al was having a medical issue and was on the way to the ER.
Since I knew there was nothing I could do until they got him in the ER and settled I ran my errand then met my Firm friends for lunch. As soon as we finished eating I left for the hospital.
He was doing better by the time arrived having treated his symptoms. They ruled out Covid, RSV, and pneumonia. Around 4 the doctor came back in with some blood work results but, we knew, they would be admitting him to see what was going on.
I convinced Frances to go home and I left for home. He is stable and may be in the ER for who knows how long until they can get a bed and organized additional tests.
