I am reading Bomber’s Moon by Archer Mayor.

Sunny and mild with a breeze.

I made it back to gym today. I walked the track and did some light upper body work. With the tendinitis in the knee I can’t do any leg stuff. The back is not any worse when I do the light upper body work and is at least making the muscles stronger. We will see what the pain management folks say in April.

Sunday March 21, 2021

Sunny, breezy and mild with temps in the low 50’s.

A fairly nice day to have Colin out to play a little ball. He has some leg issues at his age which is not uncommon. Instead of throwing the ball long range like I used to I just toss it close for him to catch on one hop. He is happy to just be outside playing even for just a few tosses.

The usual cleaning chores today and washing a load of towels.

Saturday March 20, 2021

Sunny today and a bit warmer with calm winds.

Mid morning we went outside so I could do a couple of small cleanup chores in the bed by the porch. Trying to keep the spring weeds from getting established in there. I can dig very well but i can chop them up with the shovel.

That done I put in a load of clothes to wash and tackled some more clean out projects getting more stuff ready to go to Cares. Got to get rid of some of this stuff that is just sitting around that someone else can use.

I am reading A Killer Edition by Lorna Barrett.

We have a couple of thunderstorms with heavy rain last night but thankfully all that went through before bedtime. Drizzle this morning but now the sun is out but it is cold. Temps in the low 40’s with 15 to 25 mph winds.

I stopped at the library and then at the grocery store. Did not really need anything but picked up some 2 for items and the usual milk and juice. Stopped at the little meat market just up the road to pick up some squash and zucchini.

Rain last night and all day today. Thankfully, no thunderstorms as yet that had been predicted. A cold from coming behind this rain may still produce some later on today and tonight.

I volunteered at the bookstore for a couple of hours but that’s about it for today. Too messy to make other stops.

Wednesday March 17, 2021

I had to drive down to Winston to run an errand and pick up my new glasses.

Interestingly the weather here is nicer than down the mountain. Temps down there are 20 degrees colder and its cloudy. Here it is sunny and 60 degrees. Rain coming in tonight.

Tuesday March 16, 2021

I am reading A Pinch of Snuff by Reginald Hill.

More light rain showers over night. Today is mostly cloudy and cool. Down into the low 30’s last night but not as cold tonight.

Time change caught up with me today. I finally got moving and did a few little chores  to stay ahead of things in the house; a never ending task.

Monday March 15, 2021

A few sprinkles over night and this morning. Partly cloudy and cool with temps in the upper 40’s.

Trip down to Winston to run a couple of errands and get a haircut. Trees and shrubs are blooming out down there with all the warm weather they’ve been having. Things here are still in hiatus though I do have a couple of crocus that bloomed that were not eaten by the moles and voles.

Sunday March 14, 2021

Mostly cloudy today with a breeze and temps in the mid 50’s.

In addition to the Sunday cleaning chores I finally tackled the front window in the den. It as another of those things that was getting on my last nerve to look at since I spend all day looking out that window which looks out over the front porch.

I finally raised the window and cleaned the inside of the sash between the screen and the window then took down the screens and cleaned the outside of the window. I cleaned the screen metal as best I could and the screen with a rag. Not a super job but it looks better than it did. Thankfully these new windows make them easier to clean. The screens just pop out from the inside.

Saturday March 13, 2021

A fairly nice day with partly cloudy skies and a breeze and temps in the low 50’s.

Heidi’s son came this morning to take down the apple tree. Not only was it rotting it was not bearing much fruit. Keeping the windfall off the ground is a chore I did not want to have to worry about with my back issues and it was just a pain to have to do every week before James mowed.

Heidi came along to visit and to help Cameron get up the small stuff. He pulled the brush to the natural area up by the road so James can haul it off later.

Now I need to do a load of laundry.
