Cloudy and 38 when I left for Winston this morning. Back home, the sun is out but it is still chilly. Temps only in the low 40’s today.

Turns out the light was the problem not the switches. He said it was most likely the starter. He took it down to check to make sure not wires were loose and looked at the wall switches.

This morning it did not turn on at all. Just as I was getting to Winston he texted to let me know he could not find a starter that was not back ordered for months and suggested, as we discussed, just getting a new light. I stopped at Lowe’s. They did not have what I was looking for. I went across the street to Home Depot and found one.

From there I went on to do my Costco run. I needed mostly pantry and paper items and toiletry stuff. I picked up a couple of things for the freezer but did not buy much for that until I decided when I am going to replace it. Anyway, well stocked up on all things I was running low on.

I am reading Sealed Off by Barbara Ross.

Cloudy and windy. Temperatures are dropping this afternoon from 52 this morning back down into the low 30’s. Not much in the way of rain and nothing frozen predicted.

I went to the grocery store this morning. Electrician is coming this afternoon to look at the switches for the main light in the kitchen to see why it is behaving intermittently when coming on.

Sunday February 28, 2021

Mostly cloudy but warm, almost 60 degrees, and calm.

I did a couple of small tasks that bug me every time I look at them as I come and go out the front door. Cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed and did a load of towels. That’s about it for physical stuff for the day.

First of the month book keeping and check writing this afternoon. Leftovers for dinner.

I am reading Careless Love by Peter Robinson.

Cloudy but not as cold with off and on drizzly showers.

Laundry this morning. I plan to grill out, hopefully between showers, some more chicken breasts to eat and freeze for later meals.

Friday February 26, 2021

The morning started out sunny and 40 degrees.

I was supposed to leave for Winston around noon for my annual mammogram. However, we are under a winter weather advisory for this afternoon and evening for rain/freezing rain/snow. This is the second time I have had to cancel due to the weather. I called this morning and rescheduled for the end of March. Maybe by then all this yucky winter mess will be finished.

The clouds have rolled in and the winds have picked up. Temperatures are supposed to drop this afternoon. So, just hanging around the house. I changed the bed linens. Do a few odds and ends this afternoon.

Thursday February 25, 2021

Another warm, sunny day with light winds.

I had a late morning chiropractor appointment. From there I went to the bookstore to sit at the desk for an hour or so to get out of house and see some people. Wearing a mask of course. The folks who come in are also observing the mask rule.

Wednesday February 24, 2021

A beautiful day with lots of sunshine, temperatures in the low 60’s, and a light breeze.

Lovely day for the drive down to Winston for my eye doctor appointment. it was close to 70 down there. May as well enjoy  the spring tease with March just around the corner.

Tuesday February 23, 2021

I am reading Murder on Trinity Place by Victoria Thompson.

Sunny with temperatures in the mid 50’s but…those 40 plus mph wind gusts keep the temperatures down and make being outside almost impossible.

I did a few odds and ends out in the garage since the temperatures are a little warmer then went into town to run several errands.

Monday February 22, 2021

The day started out with freezing rain which turned to rain later in the morning. The rain cleared about by midday. Temperatures made it into the upper 40’s and the sun is out but we those 20 to 25 mph wind gusts.

I drove over to Jefferson after lunch for an appointment with my tax lady. That took up the afternoon.

Sunday February 21, 2021

19 degrees when we out this morning. It has warmed up into the low 30’s with lots of sunshine and not much wind. Possible rain/snow coming in for tonight and tomorrow.

I did the usual vacuuming, dusting, and bathroom cleaning this morning and washed a load of towels. As always, a few odds and ends need to be done in the kitchen.
