I am reading Terns of Endearment by Donna Andrews.

Pouring buckets of rain when I left for the gym this morning. Pouring buckets when I left to go back to the gym to work. This is the second time in about as many weeks that we have had a 5 plus inch rain event. Flood watches and warnings in place. Again, thankful it’s not snow. The rivers and creeks I pass on the way to and from the gym are all out of their banks.

I headed down the mountain to Winston again this morning. I met Bonnie for lunch then went by Frances and Al’s to drop some things off for them before my 2 pm appointment for my mammogram. I was there an hour and half making it 3:30 by the time I was heading home.

It was raining when I took Colin out this morning and rained all day in Winston. Looks like we’ve only had a quarter of an inch here. Colin had a long day home alone. Time to give him some much needed attention.

Monday February 3, 2020

44 degrees and partly sunny when I left for the gym. A quick grocery store stop then home, showered, and headed down the mountain to Winston. I ran a couple of errands before my 1 pm appointment for my annual GYN physical. Back up the mountain in time for a staff meeting at the gym.

Warm here today with temperatures in the 60’s. It was 70 in Winston.

I am reading The Coffin Trail by Martin Edwards. A new author for me; his books are set in the Lake District of England.

35 degrees and sunny this morning when I took Colin out. Mid 50’s today with lots of sunshine. Should be a lovely day to be outside except for the 20 mph winds with gusts over 40 mph.

The usual house cleaning chores this morning. First of the month checkbook balancing and bill paying, etc. this afternoon.

35 degrees, partly sunny, and breezy. We may make it into the low 40’s this afternoon. Winds pick up tonight as temps drop back down into the low 30’s.

I’ve done the weekly laundry and mixed up a batch of homemade bread dough to bake this afternoon to eat with dinner and freeze. Otherwise, the never ending household things-to-do this afternoon.

Worked out, came home, and back to the gym to work my usual shift.

Snow showers started about 11:30 but changed to rain/snow for the rest of the afternoon and into this evening.

I am reading Slaughter in the Cotswolds by Rebecca Tope.

31 degrees with a light dusting of snow when I left for the gym then home and back to work. I had to work an extra hour this afternoon to help cover the third shift for someone out sick.

Cold tonight with a chance of snow flurries again tonight and tomorrow. So far, we have been lucky to just get these light snow events. We are all waiting on the other (snow) shoe to drop.

Wednesday January 29, 2020

29 degrees, partly cloudy, and calm when I left for the gym. Another nice day with temperatures warming up into the low 40’s.

I needed a few food items I can find at Wal-Mart that Food Lion does not have so I took off for Galax, VA from the gym to get those items plus the few things I needed from the grocery store for the week. We have only one grocery store since Lowe’s Foods closed a couple of years ago. They cover what I need for the weekly stuff since I buy the bulk of my food from Costco.

Tuesday January 28, 2020

A nicer day today with temperatures in the lower 40’s and not as windy.

I had a gym staff meeting at 9 then went on from there to open the bookstore.
