I am reading Murder At Five Finger Light by Sue Henry.

36 degrees with partly cloudy skies and the standard 10 to 15 mph winds when I left for the gym, then home, and back to work. Upper 30’s for the high. It’s looked like snow all day but nothing happened. We may get a few flurries tonight.

Today was definitely “Monday” at work.

32 degrees, partly cloudy, and breezy. We may make it into the low 40’s today but the standard 15  mph winds keeps it feeling chilly.

I vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned the bathrooms this morning. I still have a few odds and ends desk stuff to sort through and wash a load of towels.

34 degrees, partly cloudy, and breezy. Temperatures will not make it out of the 30’s today with a brisk wind. There a few snow flurries flying around. Low in the mid 20’s tonight and maybe some snow flurries.

Today I am working on my to-do list. The major ones being the weekly laundry and sorting the stuff from my old desk drawers. The rest is odds and ends that need taken care of.

39 degrees and raining this morning when I left for the gym, home, and back to work. We dodged a bullet for sure with 3.5 inches already fallen and more to come tonight. Thankfully the temperature has hovered right at 40 degrees all day or it would have been a nasty mess for sure by the time this system gets out of here.

I am reading The corpse Wore Tartan by Kairlyn Dunnett

27 degrees with partly cloudy skies when I left for the gym, home, and back to work. Low of 32 tonight with rain possibly starting as a winter mix. Guess we will see.

17 degrees, sunny, and calm this morning when I left for the gym. After a chilly couple of days the temperatures are warming up nicely into the mid 40’s with lots of sunshine.

Today was errand day; bank, library, and grocery store. I need to make up a batch of suet for the birds this afternoon.

12 degrees this morning with light winds and sunshine. Our second day of temperatures in the teens. Yesterday morning it was windy making it feel like below 0. Highs only in the 20’s again today.

I was too tired Sunday after Frances and Al left to vacuum. I worked yesterday so this morning I did a quick vacuum to get up the the dog hair and crumbs off the kitchen floor before I left for the bookstore.

Sunday January 19, 2019

Sunny today but chilly, mid 30’s for the highs and windy. Tonight is to be in the teens and another high wind warning.

Al with my help (he did all the work I just handed him parts) put my new desk together. We started around 9 and finished around 2 with just a couple of short breaks. Now I have piles of stuff from the old desk drawers to go through and organize to see what will go in the new desk and what will go elsewhere. That will be an on going project for the week.

They just left a little while ago to head back down the mountain.

Saturday January 18, 2020

35 degrees and cloudy this morning. We were under inclement weather watch from 5 am this morning to 7 pm tonight.

I had made plans to meet Frances and Al in Winston earlier in the week. I put a load of cloths in to wash while waiting to see what the weather was going to do. By mid morning nothing fall and nothing on the radar. I called Frances and we decided to meet at one.

I want to replace my old desk. I wanted to meet them there so if I found something Al could haul it up in the truck. As is turns out they did not have anything I could use.

The desk is in the bedroom which limits the size to what I have or smaller. We left there and went down the road to Office Max where I found a nice one that is a bit smaller than this one but will work great. The caveat being Al and I will have to put it together.

We left Winston and stopped in Elkin to eat at a restaurant we had been wanting to try. We ate an early dinner then headed on up the mountain for home. It’s rained but the temps have stayed just above freezing.
