62 degrees, sunny, and breezy this morning when I left for the gym. Lots of sunshine with temperatures in the low 80’s and a breeze again today.

62 degrees, sunny, and breezy this morning when I left for the gym. I stopped for groceries on the way home. Another almost like fall day with temperatures in the upper 70’s, a few clouds, breezy and low humidity.
I vacuumed out the car then pulled it out to wash. While I had the car out of the garage I swept that side of the floor.
Colin is a vacuum cleaner mad dog. He bites at the attachments. When we lived in Winston I used to crate him but he does not have a crate up here. I could lock him out in the garage but he can’t help being a dog. As soon as I pulled out the little car vacuum in the garage in went into attack mode. If he hears me pull out the upright vacuum downstairs he comes roaring down the stairs and goes after it.

I’m home today doing various chores. I mentioned Sunday we picked all the apples we could reach. This morning I went to check on what was rotten or half eaten on the ground to gather up before James mows tomorrow. Most of the leaves have fallen off the tree early this year. I checked the tree and noticed a few still to be picked. I retrieved the picker and bucket from the garage and pulled off perhaps a dozen that were not eaten by worms or rotten. I will cook those up this afternoon to eat for dinner and freeze.
I pulled up the last two zucchini plants. All that is left in the garden is five hills of potatoes. I still have peas on the deck.
Cool and partly cloudy today with a good breeze at times with a slight chance of a thunder storm.

62 degrees and sunny this morning. Today was bookstore volunteer day then home and later back to town for a 3:00 staff meeting at the gym.
Cloudy and humid this afternoon with temperatures in the low 80’s.
68 degrees and cloudy when I left for the gym. Warm and humid today. I worked my midday shift at the gym. We had some thunder and a brief shower late this afternoon there but it does not look like it rained very much here.
68 and sunny with a breeze. We spent a leisurely morning outside on the porch enjoying the nice weather. Yesterday was the first day since Tuesday without storms/rain. Today is be upper 70’s and a bit more humid.
After Frances and Al left for home I did the usual household cleaning chores.
Sunny and 68 degrees. Frances and Al arrived around 11:30. I did a load of laundry while waiting on them. After we ate lunch we picked a bucket of apples and dug a couple of hills of potatoes for them to take back home. Other than a few at the top of the tree and those that fell to the ground that bucket full is all there was to pick this year.
We fixed dinner, sat on the porch for awhile, and then watched a movie.
68 degrees and cloudy when I left for the gym this morning. After my work out I stopped by the bank and library then drove over to Galax, VA to Wal-Mart to pick up a few odds and ends.
James had just finished mowing mine and my neighbor’s yards when I got back home. He is playing catch up from all the afternoon storms we’ve had this week. I pulled all bean plants from the garden and the yellow squash plant from the deck pot. I pulled maybe a dozen or so beans yesterday but the plants are pretty much down for. I still have several hills of potatoes and two zucchini plants left along with the peas in the pots on the deck. I may get enough of the peas to cook for dinner tonight along with the beans.

68 degrees and foggy this morning when I left for the gym.
I worked another shift there today. About 2:45 the skies opened up with pea sized hail and rain coming down so hard I could not see the cars parked in the front of the building. The storm lasted a good 45 minutes before the rain let up enough for all those folks trapped in the building to get to their cars. The temperatures dropped from 78 to 66 after the storm.
I don’t if we had hail here at the house, Colin did not say. But, another 2.5 inches of rain fell making it 5.5 inches since Tuesday afternoon. If the sun comes out and stays out awhile James may come mow this evening.
Cool and raining when I left for the gym this morning. By the time I finished my workout and headed home the sun had come out.
I worked my midday shift at the gym. The clouds rolled in again around 11:45 with a brief shower and some thunder. It’s been storming with heavy rains again since about 3:15. We have to keep any eye/ear on the weather when there are storms so we can get folks out of the pool. We then have to wait 30 minutes from the last thunder/lightening we hear before we can open the pool back up.
I had roughly 2 inches from the storms yesterday afternoon and another inch this afternoon with more on the way.
