Mostly sunny, breezy, and warm today with low humidity and highs in the upper 70’s.

We were able to open the store yesterday. We had a fairly steady flow of customers most of the day and did over $100.00. Today was very busy with a lot of visitors from out of town and locals coming in to see that the store did not sustain damage. We did over $200.00 today.

The burnt buildings have been boarded up and no trespassing signs posted. Guess it will be awhile before things we see what will happen with those. The coffee shop, right next door, only had some smoke and water issues and hopefully will be back open sometime next week.

Sunny, breezy, and warm with highs in the upper 70’s.

Two nights ago we had a bad fire in downtown Sparta. Fortunately the fire walls prevented the fire from spreading and burning down the whole block. Instead it was contained to three store fronts and the apartments above and one behind those buildings.

Several people were displaced but fortunately no one was hurt. Fire departments from our county plus surrounding counties and in VA answered the call.

So, bottom line we could not open the store today because they still have our block on Main street closed off to traffic and pedestrians. But, Joyce and I made it a work day at the store getting a lot of  things done. Not sure when we will be able to open back up.

A busy two days at the store. Lots of out of town folks up for the weekend. We did over $400.00 for the two days. Several donations came in yesterday to work on. Today was just customers. Had a lot of folks just come in and do a walk through to check out the store.

Sunny and warm today but not as humid with highs in the low 80’s and a breeze.

Another busy day at the store. A big donation of children’s book to sort plus waiting on customers off and on for most of the day. Did well over $100.00.

Two days of warm and muggy weather with off and on downpours. Temperatures in the mid to upper 80’s but at least cooler than down the mountain. Very little in the way of measurable rain here at the house but it all depends on where you live as to how much you get.

Two busy, busy days at the store. A lot of small donations both days that were able to process and get on the shelves in between customers. Lots of out of town folks escaping the hot weather or getting a last weekend before school starts. Combined two days right at $400.00.

A busy day at the store with both customers and donations. Did not quit make $100.00 but still very well with sales. Most of the donations that came were also good. Took me most of the day to get those processed.

Sunny and warm today with highs in the upper 70’s but no rain so far. May get some tonight.

An off and on day at the store today. Yesterday was pretty slow. Today was better in both customers and sales. It was feast or famine. No one in the store for a couple of hours then a steady stream. At least did well over $100.00.
