Sunny and warmer today with highs in the low 70’s and not as breezy.

I worked at the store today to help out for one of the volunteers who is sick. We had a moderate day in sales but another busy day with donations that took up most of the day to get processed.

Mostly cloudy and cool today with highs in the upper 50’s and breezy.

A moderate day in sales at the store but a busy day with donations. One right after another which means I spent the day sorting, pricing, and shelving.

Yesterday I had the heating/AC checked for the winter. All was well except for the huge mouse next they found in the unit. I’ve had a few mice crawl in there and die but never a nest. They had chewed the wires to one of the sensors but they were able to tape them up for now.

I have some spray that deters them because they do not like the smell but had stopped using it because I had not had a mouse problem for awhile. Back to spraying.

Another sunny cool day with winds gusting in the 15 to 25 mph range. Yesterday we were in the mid 50’s. Today we may make the low 60’s with 40’s over night.

Gym and grocery store this morning. Picked up the usual weekly items plus a few extras for the pantry. Weather folks are saying we may be in for a rough winter but they said that last year and we didn’t. But, I will be prepared either way.

Filled the bird feeders and watered the mum. I have some annuals that are still blooming. I will leave those in the ground for now.

Sunny but breezy and chilly today. 15 to 25 mph winds and temperatures in the mid 50’s, feels like 45. We may dip down below freezing tonight.

Half price paperback sale at the store. We were busy most of the day. Almost broke the $200.00 ceiling. The last Music On Main was tonight but they moved everything indoors due to the chilly temperatures and winds. So, instead of staying open until 7:30 we closed at the 5 pm.

Partly cloudy today with highs in the mid 70’s.

A busy day at the store with customers but no donations. We did break the $100.00 ceiling.

After work I met Donna and a friend down at The Cellar which is below the bookstore for a nice evening out.

We had a brief rain shower while we were in The Cellar.

Another warm, sunny day in the mountains with highs in the mid 70’s and breezy. Leaves are starting to turn and some are already falling.

Although it was a slow day in sales Joyce and I worked like Trojans all day. She worked on changing the window, I reorganized one of our book tables and processed a couple of donations. Our high school teen volunteer helped me moved one genre of books from one books case to another so I could reorganize a section of one of our other tall bookcases. Then I switched out or half price books for this month.

Although I new the nationwide alert was going to happen at 2:20 I was busy at that tine and jumped a foot out of my chair when it went off.

Monday October 2, 2023

Sunny and warm today with highs in the mid 70’s and a slight breeze.

I went to the gym and grocery store this morning. Did not need much other than the usual weekly milk and lettuce.

This afternoon I had a Friends of the Library meeting. Afterwards I stopped at the bank and at B&T Tire and Auto to order tires while I was on that side of town.

Saturday September 30, 2023

A lovely sunny fall day in the mountains with highs in the low 70’s and a slight breeze.

The store was steadily busy all day with a slight break around the lunch hours. We broke the $100.00 ceiling wrapping up a very good month for sales. Lots of folks out strolling Main Street so hopefully all the merchants had a good day.

Friday September 29, 2023

After another foggy start of the day the sun came out and warmed up into the low 70’s/

We had a steady day at the store breaking the $100.00 ceiling. Between customers we worked on a donation that took all day to process.

Then, Pat and I went downstairs to the wine bar. Donna met us down there. We had a nice eveningĀ  chilling out. Pat left early but Donna and I stayed for awhile longer just hanging out and enjoying the evening.

Thursday September 28, 2023

After a foggy, chilly start to the morning the sun has come out and temperatures have warmed up into the upper 60’s with a light breeze.

I went to the gym, library, and drugstore this morning then outside to tackle a couple of gardening chores. Dumped the big pot from the porch steps of it’s last remaining flowers that were about done then trimmed back the quince by the side porch. That took two wheelbarrow loads to dump down in the woods then I called it quits.

I have some odds and ends chores inside that need to be done this afternoon.
