A couple of early evening light thunderstorms brought some much needed rain even though it was just over half an inch. Had beautiful rainbow across the mountains afterward. More storms predicted for this afternoon and evening as the cold front moves through. Highs today in the upper 70’s until it arrives.

The usual house cleaning chores this morning and some things to do here at the computer this afternoon while working on the laundry.

Dinner will be chicken thighs in the crock pot with barbecue sauce and most likely black eyed peas for the side.

Sunny and hot today with highs in the upper 80’s. We had a few storms in the area this afternoon but they have all gone north and south of us.

We had a very busy day at the store. Between customers and processing donations Pat and I were busy all day long. We easily broke the $100.00 ceiling.

We had off and on rain this morning  but the sun came out later in the morning. Temperatures made it into the upper 80’s and breezy.

It was a moderately slow day at the store. We did not break the $100.00 ceiling but had a good day in sales. We had a lot of people in browsing but did not buy anything. But, Pat and I had a lot of donations to process.

When we closed up at 4 pm  I went downstairs to The Cellar. It’s a very nice low key, wine, beer, and tea bar with several small appetizer plates. It was my first time visiting place. I met Donna and  Linda. We had a very nice evening. Drank a couple of glasses of wine and shared one of the appetizer platters and a desert platter.

Low’s this morning in the upper 50’s and highs in the low 80’s for today with lots of sunshine.

We had a moderately busy day at the store; mostly this morning. Did not break the $100.00 ceiling. Had several decent sized and quality donations come in this afternoon. We worked on getting those all priced and shelved until closing time.

Mostly sunny today and warmer with highs in the low to mid 80’s and breezy.

Gym and grocery store this morning. All I needed was the usual weekly items since we did a Food City run Saturday. Then came home and worked outside for awhile. All the plants need watered since we have no rain in sight for the week and high temperatures. I had to dump a couple more pots that are finished for the year but the ground plants are still looking good.

Making rice this afternoon for stir fry for dinner.

Sunny and a bit warmer today with highs in the low 80’s.

Frances and Al left mid-morning for home. I started the usual cleaning chores after they left. Laundry this afternoon.

Putting a Kirkland lasagna in the oven for dinner which gives me some left over meals for this week.

Another spectacular day with lows this morning in the upper 50’s, highs in the upper 70’s and lots of sunshine.

We spent the morning hanging out here at home. After we ate lunch we headed for Independence, VA to shop at Food City. Found several things I could not find at Food Lion along with a few other things on sale.

Not sure where we are going out for dinner.

Another sunny, breezy day with highs in the upper 70’s.

We started off slow at the store but things picked up after 2 pm. We broke the $100.00 ceiling with most of the sales in a two hour window.

Mostly sunny again today with Lows in the upper 50’s this morning and highs today in the upper 70’s and breezy.

Gym and library this morning to pick up and return books.

I then spent a couple of hours outside getting various gardening chores taken care of. It’s lovely working outside when its cooler although I work up a soaking sweat regardless of the temperatures.

Some of the annuals are starting to give out. I emptied one hanging basket and one sitting pot. Everything in the ground is still looking pretty good. I can’t win the battle with the errant grass let alone the war but I am at least keeping it somewhat under control where I can.

Mostly sunny today. Low’s this morning in the upper 50’s, highs today in the upper 70’s and breezy. We are getting a taste of fall but it will warm up again next week.

Not much traffic today at the store but I did not expect a big day. Between folks being out of town for their last vacation or school already starting in some of the area counties. We had a steady stream of donations come in the door this morning to work on. Though we did not break the $100.00 ceiling we still had an okay day.
