Diaries

Another mostly sunny, blustery, day. Lots of haze either from the wild fires or just summer haze. Temperatures in the mid 70’s. It clouded up and rained in town for about 15 minutes then the sun came back out.

A dismally slow day at the bookstore. Barely made over the $40.00 mark. Not sure where everyone was but not much traffic on the sidewalk. If not for a couple of good sales it would have been even worse.

Windy and sunny equals dry. I just finished watering everything in the ground and the pots. That should hold things over until the rain comes in sometime Sunday.

Sunny and breezy again today with gusty winds. Temperatures are in the mid 70’s today.

I went to the gym this morning. This afternoon I drove down to Elkin to the oral surgeon. I did not have a procedure today. They did a CT scan of my mouth so they could measure me for the implant. We discussed the procedure and how it will be done at the end of July.

So, back up the mountain. I got home just as James was finishing up Derek’s yard next door. Walked over to pay him. Slight chance of rain tonight so I will wait to water the plants tomorrow.

Gusty winds most of the day with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70’s. We are still have a very windy, cool spring with it already the middle of June.

A moderately busy day at the store. Did not quit break the $100.00 but a good day in sales and traffic. We worked on a couple of big donations that came and did some shelf organizing in between customers.

Partly cloudy, gusty winds, and cool. We get a warm day or two then go back to upper 60’s again for highs. We had a couple of tenths of an inch of rain over night and this morning.

I went to the gym and the grocery store this morning. Had another brief shower while I was out and about. Picked up some extra pantry items and lettuce but they did not have my milk. Still have a couple to hold me over until hopefully they get more.

This afternoon I changed the sheets and did a couple of odds and end jobs in the house and here at my computer.

Sunny, warm, and breezy today with temperatures in the mid 70’s. Still hazy from the Canadian fires.

Today the store had an open house from 1 to 4 celebrating their 20 year anniversary being in the same storefront for 20 years. Quit an accomplishment for a small towns.

We were very busy this morning with lots of people to buy books and wish us well. Very busy this afternoon with both customers and folks dropping in to see the couple who set up the store and have moved from Sparta. We had several retired volunteers come.

We made over $200.00 in sales. After we finally got the store cleared Joyce, Pat, and I stayed to clean everything up. So, been a long day but a lot of fun.

Sunny today with highs in the low 70’s. Breezy but still haze from the Canada wildfires but not as a bad.

An off and on busy day at the store. Still we almost broke the $100.00 ceiling by closing time.

Even though we’ve had a lot of rain the sun and wind have dried out the ground and pots. So, I watered everything when I got home from the store.

Rain and clouds all day. I’ve only had a couple of tenths of an inch at the house.

We were very busy this morning up until around lunch time. Then a break until mid afternoon when things picked up again. We did break the $100.00 ceiling which was good for a Wednesday.

Even with the rain we are still under air quality alerts from the fired in Canada.
