Hot and dry will be the story for the next couple of days. But, with highs only in the upper 80’s and low humidity it is still cooler than down the mountain.

I drove over to Galax, VA this morning for a Lowe’s trip. I needed potting soil, ceiling fan light bulbs. and a few other odds and ends. I picked up a perennial for a spot along the porch that I had tried something else there that was not doing too well.

I planted the Coral Bell then moved another large clump of ground cover from the bed along the stoop out to the driveway natural area. I will go out and water later on this afternoon.

This afternoon doing the laundry.

Mostly sunny today with temperatures in the low 80’s with 60% humidity. Not bad compared the other parts of the state down the mountain.

I worked at the bookstore most of the day. We were moderately busy with sales in the $70 range. I did not work Saturday but we had a total of $354.00 and some change for the day. A really good day for the store.

A thunderstorm yesterday afternoon brought almost 3 inches of rain in about an hour or so. Today is mostly sunny and warm with temperatures in the low 80’s and a breeze. A chance of storms again this afternoon.

Gym this morning then stops at the bank, gas station, and drug store.

I spent about half an hour pulling weeds and grass from the natural area along the side of the driveway we did not get to Saturday. Not much else going on the rest of the day.

I stopped by the library to drop off and pick up some books on they way to the bookstore for a few hours of volunteer time.

Mostly sunny and warm today with temperatures in the low 80’s. We had a brief thunderstorm last night bringing about 4 tenths of an inch of rain.

I left for Winston around 10 this morning to meet Bonnie for lunch at Mid-Town Cafe then on to my haircut appointment and back home.

James is mowing the weeds and clover although the grass had grown a bit with the little off and on rain from the last week.

I worked at the bookstore most of the day. We had a hard rain shower mid-afternoon that did not last very long. My gauge said around 5 tenths of an inch. We may get some more later this evening.

We were very busy today at the store with both people and sales. Over $100 for the day which is good.
