Sunny and warm today with highs in the low 40’s and not as breezy.

I went to the gym this morning then made a grocery store stop. Picked up a few odds and ends for the pantry along with salad stuff and apples. They were stocking shelves in almost every aisle. Still some vacant areas.

We’ve had about an inch of wet snow since early this morning on the trees, deck, etc. Temperatures are right at freezing keeping the roads clear but the winds are gusting in the 15 to 20 mph range. Tonight is to be back down into the teens.

I did the usual house cleaning chores but otherwise not much else going on for the rest of the day.

I left around 9:30 this morning for Winston. I had a couple of errands to run before meeting my friends from the law firm for lunch at Willow’s Bistro. From there I had a 2 pm haircut appointment and then back up the mountain for home.

It was sunny in the low 60’s and breezy down there. Up here we are warm and sunny with temps right at 50 degrees but also breezy.

Monday February 7, 2022

Between the time I took the trash out around 6:30 and then got back up later in the morning we had a light dusting of snow. Some of the surrounding areas had a lot of black ice and freezing rain on the roads. Hwy 21 down the mountain to Elkin was closed both ways because of the icy conditions.

By the time I left for the gym they had salted the roads and it was fine between here and town, I stopped at the library on the way home to return some books and pick one up.

It’s warmed up into the mid 30’s this afternoon but still mostly cloudy and breezy. Otherwise, not much else going on here at the house.

Sunday February 6, 2022

Sunny and cold this morning with temperatures in the upper teens and breezy. Should warm up into the mid 30’s this afternoon.

Frances and Al left around 11:15 for home. I cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed then did a few things at my desk while the towels were washing. That’s about it for me for today.
