Partly sunny, windy, and chilly. Temperatures in the upper 50’s. The big rain storm coming up from the coast is just now getting to the mountains. It was supposed to arrive early this afternoon.

A very busy day at the bookstore. Steady all day with periods of lots of people in the store in groups. A combination of tourists, regulars, and locals with visitors. Street traffic was busy all day.

The Blue Ridge Parkway, which runs very near Sparta, is closed going north just outside of town. Traffic is being rerouted through Sparta to get to highway 18 that will take you back to where you can pick up the Parkway. Thus, lots more traffic through town which is bringing in more tourists who stop in town to shop and eat that probably would not stop.

Mostly sunny, breezy, and cool today with temperatures in the upper 60’s.

A slow day at the store. A few regulars along with a few tourists; some who bought, some who just looked. We did not come close to the $100.00 ceiling but had a reasonably good day considering. Sidewalks had some off and on traffic but not a lot of folks stopping in the store.

Gym this morning and some errands. Stopped by the library to pick up and return books and the drugstore to pick up a few things. Since I was right there I decided to hit the grocery store. Found my milk and picked up another one of the lettuce mixes I like. Figured things might sell out for the holiday weekend.

I watered the in ground plants and some of the pots when I got home. James showed up to mow mid afternoon.

A moderately good day at the store. Busy most of the morning. Things tailed off in the afternoon. Sales were okay but nowhere near the $100.00 ceiling.

Sunny and chilly today with highs in the mid 60’s and 10 to 15 mph winds.

I did a few outdoor chores this morning but I do not like working outside when it’s windy so I gave up and came in for the day. Have a couple of things to do in the house and here at my desk this afternoon. Otherwise, just taking things as they come.

Sort of hazy, partly cloudy today with temperatures in the upper 60’s and  breezy.

Gym and grocery store this morning. Did not have my milk and I picked up last one of the salad mix that I like. Did find a bag of my corn chips that I like but otherwise did not need anything else.

I spent awhile outside pulling weeds and watering everything. No significant rain in the immediate forecast. That’s about it for today.

Did the usual house cleaning chores this morning and laundry this afternoon.

Chicken in the crock pot with barbecue sauce and black eyed peas for dinner.

Mostly sunny, warm and breezy today with highs in the low 70’s. I think what rain we were supposed to get went around us.

We had a steady day at the store. A few out of town folks and mostly regulars. Almost broke the $100.00 ceiling. And, worked on sorting a couple of donations.

After a slow morning at the bookstore things picked up after lunch. We almost broke the $100.00 ceiling. In between customers we worked on a donation and organized shelves.
