We had just enough snow yesterday afternoon and last night to cover the grass. Today is sunny with temperatures in the upper 40’s with a breeze.

I went to the gym and grocery store this morning. This afternoon I dove over to Jefferson, NC for my tax appointment for 2 pm. It’s only about 35 minutes but I drove through a little bit higher elevations than my house. The mountains and trees were still covered in snow along the way. They did not get as much over in Jefferson as we had here.

Had a little over an inch of rain last night. This morning the rain turned to freezing rain. Trees and other surfaces were covered in ice. Around midday it warmed up enough to melt the ice and go back to rain. Now the rain is turning to snow. We are supposed to get snow showers this afternoon and tonight.

I vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned the bathrooms. Laundry this afternoon.

Crock pot chicken for dinner with a can of black eyed peas.

Mostly sunny today with highs in the mid 40’s and breezy. We are under winter storm warning starting tonight through tomorrow. We’ll see how much snow I actually get. It all depends on where you live and the temperature as to what falls; snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain.

Fairly busy day at the bookstore. We did not quit make $100 but had a lot of sales in small amounts. A few regulars brought in some small donations. Had several folks in from out of town for the weekend.

We had a very busy day at the bookstore. A large donation needed to be dealt with. We had a lot of customers in most of the day with several making big purchases. We broke the $200.00 ceiling and almost made it to $300. Between customers Pat and I priced and processed books.

Had an interesting conversation with a couple who drive over from Galax, VA. He said he was a science guy. They bought a big load of books including some old science books were selling.

I was telling him about Bob, the kits, and books. Told his about loosing Bob but that Ben bought the business and was keeping it going. All of a sudden he said, “Oh, I know Bob. I have several of his science books and watched his videos”. It can be small world.

Blustery winds this morning with temperatures in the low 50’s when I left for Winston.

I ran several errands, grabbed a bite of lunch, then went on to my 1:30 haircut appointment. In Winston it was mostly sunny and warm with temperatures in the low 70’s.

As I started home it was clouding up. Temperatures dropped as I headed up the mountain along with some dark clouds. I hit off and on rain showers all the way home. Temps are still in the low 50’s with gusty winds.

Sunny skies turned cloudy this afternoon with highs in the upper 50’s and breezy. Rain coming in tonight.

A sort of slow day at the bookstore. We had several groups of folks cruise in and browse but did not buy anything. Paying customers helped us just get past the $50.00. We also had several donations that needed dealt with.

This morning I changed the sheets and spent some time shredding some more old documents.

This afternoon I went in to town to pick up some paperwork from my investment guy, stopped by the library to pick up some books, and hit the drug store for some OTC items for the cabinet. Used my Blue Cross OTC card which paid for all the items and I still have some money left on the card.

A have a few chores to do in the kitchen this afternoon.

Sunny today and a bit warmer with temperatures in the upper 40’s. Howling winds last night and this morning have calmed down this afternoon to just breezy conditions.

Off to the gym this morning and the grocery store. Picked up the usual weekly stuff along with some favorite pantry items to keep in stock.

Friends of the Library meeting this afternoon.

Mostly sunny today and warmer with temperatures in the upper 40’s and breezy. Forecast is for another round of 40 to 50 mph gusts tonight and tomorrow.

I cleaned the upstairs bathrooms then went downstairs. Weekly I do the toilet but this morning I did the sink and tub then vacuumed and dusted all the rooms and the stairs. I can check that chore off my to-do list until spring.

This afternoon laundry and some stuff to do here at my computer.

Another sunny and chilly day. Temperatures made it into the upper 30’s with calmer winds but wind chill still in the low 20’s.

A moderately busy day but not as much as we had hoped for half price paperback Saturday. Did not break the $100 ceiling. I guess the cold temperatures are keeping most folks inside. Customers today were almost all locals.
