Warm and sunny today with highs in the low 50’s and breezy.

Errands in town today. I went to the DMV, which is only open two days a week here, to renew my driver’s license. It does not expire until the first of December but I did not want to wait. Sometimes the DMV does not open here due to staff shortages and with the holidays coming up decided to get it done. Did not have to wait long. just did the regular license.

From there stopped at the library, drug store, and grocery store. Found milk, lettuce, and juice. Only a few bottles of my brand left on the shelf so I got lucky.

Vision is better today. Actually not hardly blurry at all without my glasses but I need them for the other eye and for reading.

Today is chilly and windy with highs in the low 40’s and mostly sunny skies.

Surgery went well. I was back at Frances and Al’s by 11 am. Hung out and rested. Frances and Al fixed dinner. Al drove me back for my follow up appointment this morning. Eye is healing but still blurry. I left their house around 9:30 am to head back up the mountain.

Unpacked, checked e-mail, and sorted out paperwork. Resting this afternoon. Cannot lift anything over 15 pounds the next week. Have to sleep with an eye shield for a week to keep from accidentally touch the eye. Everything is bright in the surgery eye now. Amazing how clouded and brown tinted things were.

About 2 tenths of an inch of rain last night. Today is sunny and breezy with a high in the low 60’s. Temperatures will fall into the upper 20’s by tonight with gusty winds.

I changed the sheets and did a few odds and ends. I have my first cataract surgery tomorrow so you may not see me here for a day or so depending on how things go.

Did the usual house cleaning chores this morning. Laundry this afternoon.

Leaves are almost at the fall peak this weekend. Depending on the winds and rain it may be the last weekend. My favorite birds are back at the feeder; nuthatches, titmouse, chickadees, and downy woodpeckers. Also, I just spotted a wren on the deck when I was by the French doors watering the indoor plants.

Busy day at the bookstore with lots of visitors from out of town leaf peeping or doing the drive around the county of the artist studio tours, We broke the $100 ceiling making it a good day with sales. Talked to a lot of interesting people.

Grilling out chicken breasts to freeze for future meals and kielbasa for dinner.

Busy day at the bookstore with lots of out of town visitor some of whom are regulars when they come to town to stay at friends or relatives mountain houses. We also had several local regulars who had friends in town. We did crack the $100 ceiling.

Leaves are rapidly changing which contributes to a lot of our traffic. Also, we have artists who open their studios for a tour twice a year which is this weekend.

Mostly cloudy and breezy today with highs in the upper 50’s. The fog rolled in this afternoon with drizzle. Rain tonight with a chance of thunderstorms as a cold front passes through.

I was at the bookstore all day. Not very busy and dismal sales. We have a few folks come in that did not buy anything but overall a slow day even though there was a lot of foot traffic on the sidewalk.
