Snow was falling again this morning when I took Colin out around 7:45. Fortunately, the temperature  was 32 and the ground was warm enough for it melt when it hit the ground. I went to the gym then back home. Precipitation varied from snow to rain to sleet and back to rain all morning.

This afternoon I had a Friends of the Library meeting. It’s still drizzling with temperatures in the mid 30’s.

The deck and natural areas had a light dusting of snow this morning. It was spitting snow last night when I took Colin out around 9 pm. It’s sunny today but cold and windy. More rain/snow showers tonight.

House cleaning chores this morning. Not sure what, if anything, I am doing the rest of the day.

Cloudy and drizzle this morning. Temperatures will drop as the day progresses from 43 right now to 23 tonight. Rain may change to snow showers before all is said and done by tomorrow morning.

I swept out the Trooper side of the garage and work more on getting things organized. Definitely, a work in progress. I organized the paperwork on my desk.

One of my Firm friends is coming up for a visit this afternoon.

Gym this morning. After I finished my workout I freshened up and stayed to work a couple of hours for more training. I have to leave at 12:45 to come home and meet JoAnne, Jeff, and Colin. Colin and Jeff took the Trooper, JoAnne drove their car, and I followed in mine to the license plate bureau. It took about 20 minutes to transfer the title from me to them. i ran a quick errand than headed back home.

It’s warmed up to the low sixties with partly cloudy skies. Rain and cold temperatures are coming back in tonight.

Sunny but breezy and cold this morning. I spent the morning catching up on paperwork and this-n-that stuff I did not have time to do yesterday with all the other activities going on.

This afternoon it warmed up to a balmy 44 degrees with a breeze. I took Colin out for a play time and finished sprucing up the mulch beds that run along the front porch and sidewalk.

Wednesday April 4, 2018

It’s been a busy day. I spent the morning at the dentist office getting the old filling removed, impression taken for the crown, and the temporary crown put in. From there I had a staff meeting at the Wellness Center which I was late for but that was okay.

Back home, I had just finished lunch when Gene and his wife showed up. Gene replaced the outdoor front spigot that went bad during the last cold spell. While he was working on that Jeff, JoAnn, and Colin showed up to test drive the Trooper to see if they wanted to buy it. They decided yes, so I drove it down to B & T to get it inspected before it changes hands later this week.

It’s been sunny today but very windy. Temperatures tonight are to drop back down into the mid 20’s with wind gusts to 40 mph. Winter will just not go away.

Cloudy and damp this morning. I took care of a couple of little things before heading off to the vet with Colin. He was due his annual checkup and shots. A nice thing about this vet, they do not require appointments. Colin got a clean bill of health. We were there and back in about a half an hour.

The sun came out and temperatures warmed up to the low 60’s I took Colin out for a play time and finished turning up the mulch along the other side of the driveway. I am working on sorting old camera equipment that was stored in the downstairs dresser.

Monday April 2, 2018

Gym and a couple of errands this morning. Saturday while Al was planting potatoes I used a dirt rake to liven up the mulch bed along the driveway. I finished one side. This morning, while I had Colin out to play, I started the other side. I made it about halfway down the drive before it started raining. It was time for lunch anyway, so I stopped for the day. It is supposed to rain off and on all day and tonight.

Also, last Friday Al and I hauled the short filing cabinet from downstairs in the food room to the garage. I had already hauled one of the four drawer I was using to store the kit office supplies off to Cares. I cleaned out the other four drawer and downsized to the two. A put the non essentials in a bankers box for storage and threw the empty filing folders and  misc. stuff in another box. We hauled that four drawer to Cares Friday afternoon.

This afternoon I’ve been sorting the “misc. box” and rearranging the two drawer to better suit my needs. And as always is the case, when going through some of the older files I found stuff I did not know I had put in there.

Sunday April 1, 2018

Frances and Al left after lunch for home. I pulled out the vacuum cleaner to do a quick run through the house to pick up dog hair, etc.; cleaned the bathrooms, and finished up some paperwork at my desk.

When Al and Frances are here I get a bit of a vacation. Al feeds Colin, takes him out for play times and potty breaks; and fills, runs, and empties the dish washer among other projects we are working on. Frances cooks meals, fixes lunches, and also helps with the projects.

In loosing Bob I not only lost my best friend and soul mate but also my helpmate. Although I did the yard work in Winston and the house cleaning Bob was always hard at work either writing, doing kit stuff or something. Up here, he did a lot of the indoor duties in the kitchen plus helping with Colin and other small stuff. I am on 24/7 with house and dog duties plus making all the decisions with no one to discuss things with but Colin. Frances and Al help a lot with that aspect but some things I have to decide for myself. I have a lot of support from them and friends locally, in Winston, and cyber land.

Onward and upward, one step at a time. Or some days, one step forward, two steps back.

Saturday March 31, 2018

We have a nice sunny day though cool, high in the low 50’s with 10 mph winds. Al and I swapped out the dresser up here in the closet that matches the bedroom set with the one downstairs we had moved from their room to the new room. My uncle made all my Nana’s furniture in high school shop class. It’s very well made and in much better shape than the old dresser that belong to Lenore.

Al tilled the garden yesterday afternoon while I was volunteering at the book store. We are planting potatoes this afternoon and getting the squash plants started in pots in the garage. I also have some forget-me-not seeds started out there as well.

Frances is fixing stuff zucchini for dinner and cherry pie for dessert.
